zieg72 209 #1 Posted May 24, 2009 I need some wiring help... I am stumped and have not found the right combination of wires to hook up. I am pretty sure I have the safety switches bypassed or hooked up but the power to the ignition is what has me stumped. Do I have to go through and amp gauge? How does everything hook up from the battery through the fuses to the ignition switch? I have installed a Ford solenoid and can jump it and the engine will crank ruling out a bad ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bow_Extreme 550 #2 Posted May 25, 2009 You shouldn't have to pass thru the amp gauge. The amp gauge only reads voltage that's created. You need to make sure you are getting voltage thru the ignition switch. The battery powers 2 of the fuses on your fuse block. I would assume that wiring is still intact. Follow your wiring diagram for your 520H. I don't have mine in front of me right now so I cannot help you work thru this at the current time.

That is just it, I completely removed the wiring loom from the 520H and replaced it with the C165. I know the seat switch safety is jumped and I used the 2 wires that was on the C165 clutch safety and moved it to the neutral safety switch on the hydro. I also put a jumper on the PTO lever. What I am missing is from the battery on through both fuses and how the ignition switch receives the power either through an amp gauge or voltage meter?? chamjack 0 #4 Posted May 26, 2009 This is my first post here, so bear with me. I have been lurking here for info for the last year as I am restoring my C-165. I have gained lots of useful info from all of the various posts. I have the wiring diagrams for the 82/83 C-Series tractors. There are four: Circuit Off, Circuit Start, Circuit Charging, and Circuit Run PTO Engaged. I have tried numerous ways to upload them here, and I can't seem to figure it out Zieg72, I will PM them to you. If anyone else is intersested in them, I will gladly post them if someone wants to tell me how or point me to the directions on how. I searched the forums here and was unable to locate anything. By the way, Zieg72, the spindle housings you sold me worked. I was unable to use anything but the housing though. I would have had to change over pulleys and everything on top to make the smaller spindles work. I do have some nice left over spindles and spacers if you want to buy them back cheap
zieg72 209 #5 Posted May 26, 2009 Garry from the yahoo group emailed me and I have what I need as far as wiring goes. Sorry the whole spindles didn't work for you but it sounds like you have a grass cutting machine again. chamjack!!! best and most helpful bunch of guys here.
