Cluster Gear # 3525

Recommended Posts

Lane Ranger

This has probably been discussed or posted before on Red Square but I was going through RJ and Suburban transmission parts boxes today for someone and came across two #3525 Cluster Gears.

Interesting  to note that  from the 1958 RJ three piece transmission thru 1974 B-80 Wheel Horse tractor transmissions ( and I am sure later models also) that the cluster gear is the same!

the only change appears to be a one half inch longer center shaft on the #3525 Cluster Gear for the later two piece transmissions versus the three piece ones.

Do you still have these gears? I have what I believe is a 5060 6 speed (1,2,3,R, H,L). My cluster gear has some broken teeth. according to the a old parts diagram I need part number 3525. If you still have these, could I purchase one from you? If not, could you point me in the right direction? I cant find any on ebay.

@Dnorth  often refer to , FLUSHING OUT A GEAR BOX ?  have found  hi milage  ATF  fluid  drive around , put some miles and time on that  cleaning  ability  , use every gear / range , you want to see a color  debris  effect  ? also  drain out  with  front end  jack stand  support  for best drainage , like a climbing gear oil , read specs , also  tye  wrap  just  ABOVE  new shift boot ?  on shaft ,  find where  it wants to be , then  hold it there  , also like to  to lightly grease the UNDERSIDE OF BOOT ? ENHANCES , movement slide over  iregularites , helps it stay  in place . all of my trans oils  are clean / clear  , have a regular   look see  for anything  , then  kill it  . pete
