Tony in Australia 2 15 #1 Posted November 10, 2020 Hi there team. Just bought my next W/H 416-8 with an Owan twin. I have a few questions I would like some advice on please. 1. The Throttle lever will not stay in the open high speed position, ie; in the all the way up, how do you adjust it, the manual gives on guidance. 2. Do you run the Owan flat out- full speed when operating the cutting deck. 3. Can anyone explain the relationship between the throttle position and how the governor work please, I know what a governor does and how it works but in conjuction with throttle position, not sure. Thanks in advance TC Australia

Squeeze the rivet till it holds the lever firmly. 2. Yes. 3. There is a throttle stop tab that you adjust by bending to get the maximum 3600 RPM. The idle speed is adjusted by a screw on the governor, you first adjust the low idle speed on the carburetor and then you adjust the governed idle speed a little bit higher. The instructions are in the Onan Service Manual available on this site.
Tony in Australia 4 #3 Posted November 10, 2020 Thanks so much Lynnmor for the very quick response and the good advice. The hour meter has only 182hr total so I will fix the pivot and see how that goes before I mess with the carby. Thanks again
