gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,392 #2 Posted November 9, 2020 The wiring diagram shows the wire from the light module to the engine but no sending unit at the engine. Have to do more research.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,392 #4 Posted November 9, 2020 Have to assume this is the switch at the engine somewhere. Kohler kit part number 24 703 01 Found it on the crankshaft page of the tractor illustrated parts list for the tractor model 72102. Not illustrated but it is listed. Click on the picture for more info. Garry
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,392 #5 Posted November 10, 2020 If you looked at the link to the switch above you will see what models show the temperature switch. Most of those models do not have a temperature light. Looking at the Kohler engine wiring diagrams they show an extra connector in the ignition coil wire. I suspect the models without a temperature light have the switch connected to the ignition wire which would shut the engine down on an overheat condition. Can not find this info in any Kohler or Wheel Horse manuals. Expected to find this problem in the no-spark trouble shooting but it is not there. If you think your ignition has failed look for the high temperature cut-out switch and disconnect it. That may be all that is wrong. Garry

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,392 #7 Posted November 11, 2020 Suspect the temperature sensor on the engine has failed. Disconnect the wire from the sensor and see if the light goes out. It could also be the wire from the sensor to the bulb is shorted to ground. The bulb is powered by the ignition switch. Any ground will light it up. Found the sensor specs and added them in the link above. Click on the picture to view it. Garry
