Jim Turner 47 #1 Posted October 31, 2020 Picked up my third Wheel horse a nice 877 last night. Mr. Steve Grayson was gracious and let me buy it from him. Needs a the mule Drive, shift adjustment cover, K181 belt cover, brake and parking adjusted. no brakes at moment probably needs new shims and bushings to get rid of play for the forward and reverse. I like it. I also bought a push plow for it . (works on long or short frames). Tomorrow morning I will be picking up my fourth tractor a Wheel Horse 1054. 6 6

The day after that I am picking up a Yanmar YM155D But I won't be able to post pictures of that here. The only other Wheel horse I want to buy next will be an 865,866 or an 867 and maybe a 753 with a 6 or 8 speed transaxle. Then I will stop......... rjg854 12,250 #12 Posted November 1, 2020 Had 7 horse's at the time and needed to make some room, this year I'm gonna use a Raider 12 with the limited slip transmission. We'll see how that does

We'll see how that does I did not know about the limited slip transmissions until you just now mentioned it, very cool. I wonder if they are used on all Raiders? ot was it a special order option? my friend is storing a Raider 10 in my garage makes me want to jack up the rear end and see if it has it. Retired Wrencher 5,837 #14 Posted November 1, 2020 Jim Over all a nice original looking tractor. Should serve you well. Enjoy.
rjg854 12,250 #15 Posted November 1, 2020 Jim, I believe that they are called 6-speeds that have the limited slip transmission (5060). And common to Raiders. Others will most likely know if there are any other ones. If that is original paint, then that's in really nice condition
JCM 10,250 #16 Posted November 1, 2020 You could post pics of that Yanmar tractor if you do get it under the Other Brands section. FYI

peter lena 9,309 #19 Posted November 1, 2020 jim nice looking unit , you might try a marvel mystery oil , rub down on that , to retain the paint and bring out the patina . rub it down till dry with the same cloth you put it on with , you will notice it getting cleaner and the paint taking on a refreshed look . found that the original w/h paint really responds well to an oil rub down . just my own experience, pete
71_Bronco 1,072 #20 Posted November 1, 2020 Nice tractor, looks good enough to leave as it is if you so choose. I have a Commando 8, and I plow my 100 foot long paved driveway with it. Its a little bit of a pain to plow with the stick, but its still a ton of fun.
