Thats brilliant! We do the same with our old hit and miss engines. No idea why this idea never crossed my mind.

We use tapered hubs all the time for industrial electric motors like on pumps and fan drives. You figure out where the hub/pulley needs to be, slide the center piece  into it and then tighten the screws. The center piece is split. The hub/pulley has a taper and as you draw it in with the screws it clamps down on the center piece clamping it to the shaft.

Any chance these will be available in the wider and deeper C195 and D series 6 hole hub style (and a few more i think) :-) ?

Yes I plan to have this style available in the 6 lug for the C195 and D series. I also plan to have them for the GT14 and 953, 1054 the 4 bolt.
