I'm about to restore my father's exact tractor. 1984. Killer find. Mine will have lived it's entire life about 70 miles north of Brooklyn.

Southampton -- doesn't get much nicer. Though I can do without the rich people, sorry.

I could definitely do without the rich people too. I’ve lived here for 50 years and the more people that move here from New York City the more I want to move. However my family has lived here for almost a hundred years and my wife’s family for more than that. It truly is beautiful with all the bays, the ocean, farm and woodland that’s what attracts the city people. Unfortunately they have driven the price of real estate up to the point that the local people can’t afford to live here anymore. Here’s a couple pictures I took the other day Sorry if I got off topic!

Don,

I'm fourth generation Orange County, NY. My ancestors arrived and built a life in the late 1800s. I live in my grandfather's house, built in 1947 on the very farmland my family tended -- which I rebuilt myself with family friends. This area, originally farmland and gorgeous (and very Polish), continues to be overbuilt into a vacuous suburb. I have close ties personally to Montauk, and my wife and I visit at least once a year...so Southampton was always a stop. The situations are different but the same: too many people, and, worse, too many people with money and opinions. Ruinous. The giant houses are an abomination, too.

Both are still beautiful, though. I hold onto that. We should meet sometime, in person. Cheers.

I push a 54” with inside and outside weights and fluid in the rears and my C-161 does great. He’s going to have a blast. That seat pan even looks solid. Nice find!
