Planes are so much more soothing than a screaming router.  But it is kind of funny these hand tools cost more than the power equivalent.  But oh that wonderful sound when a nice curl is coming from the plane.

Soothing and cleaner. One can then use the shavings to start a fire in the wood burning stove. Since there are always barrel loads of them here I also use them as packaging protection instead of Styrofoam peanuts. Unless they are collectible pieces  , they can be found relatively cheap.

Thank you. I am glad that they are appreciated. Its a lifetime from a very young age of learning and accumulating beautiful tools many of them given to me by those who inspired me.
