PTO/CLUTCH troubles

Recommended Posts

WheelHorse314-8

I have a 1999 Wheel Horse 314-8 w/ a 42in side deck.  Lately I've noticed when I mow over a large patch or grass my clutch starts screaming at me.  I tried to push the pto lever tighter and this seems to help it.

Is there a way to adjust the tention on the clutch OR does the noise mean I need to break down and get a new clutch pad?

The end of the PTO rod is threaded. shorten the rod at the trunion for more clutch tension.

Ok.  I'll give it a shot!

Also, is there a way to make my horse mow more evenly?  All my bearing are in good shape and all three blades are even but there still seems to be up and down spots in the finish.

We have had a lot of rain the grass has been taller and thicker this year you may be moving to fast.  I've had to slow way down to get the lawn to look better and I can still go over it a second time and cut grass off.
