Fuel filter are not enough...

Recommended Posts

Two years ago I loaned an Charger12 to my neighbor. He was trying to mow three acres with a big box store John Deere 42" deck.  He brought it back a few weeks ago as he had purchased a new Kubota B2601 with FEL and mower deck.

Before I loaned the Charger to him I had cleaned out the carb, fuel system, new lines filter etc.  Been a bit rough running since he brought it back so I decided to look into it.  Now it has  plastic tank that is clean.  look at the color of the fuel filter and look at the crap in the carb bowl....Guess i should change all my fuel filters if they are letting that much crap through... Guess he didn't use ethanol free gas.

Most people pay very little attention to their fuel cans and fuel. I had a good friend of mine ask me to get his pressure washer running because he said it would not start. Sent him a pic.....mostly water in the tank!

And he is a maintenance guy!!!

I agree with that Paul. Hard to tell because I can't quite focus in on it but that looks like ethanol pearls on my little phone.

It's good to see that you are using yellow fuel line. That should have helped a little.

I've switched over to using the blue stuff from Stens.

I've seen good old-fashioned black rubber fuel lines start disintegrating in one year.

Where do you get the yellow and blue fuel line ? I was just about to install new filter, line, and pump...about to use the old black rubber line, but now I'm rethinking using it.

I'd have to get a part number from home but what I use is a Sten's Brand True Blue 1/4".

The name brand on the yellow stuff around here is Tygon.

I don't know that I prefer one over the other but the True Blue is less expensive.

Careful what you pay for either one of those.

I've seen it anywhere from a dollar or so per foot all the way up to $3 per foot.

Thanks #ebinmaine...I only need about 5 feet. And I don't want to pay any more than I have to, but 15 - 20 dollars ain't too bad to help keep from having bad fuel problems.

I could probably mail you some for that if it would help you.

I buy at 25 ft at a time...
