Is the car a 70ish Plymouth, maybe a Duster?

It is a 1976 Ford Maverick, currently has a 250 inline 6 that runs smooth but .....I have a HiPo 289 K-code motor that is going in it over the winter.

Nice!

Remember a buddy of mine had one in high school.

4bbl-302, was a brown and white car with the Grabber package.

Cragar wheels, and the ass end up in the air on air shocks.

You could rev the crap out of that thing...scary fast car.

Is that a starter-generator belt guard hanging in the back?

Yep, I see a fan shroud and a belt guard hanging right off the bat...

Maybe some pedals to the right... above the blue thing?

Those old ford straight six engines were bullet proof.  Someday I would like a nice mid 80s f150 short bed with a straight 6 300 and 4spd.

These cars were my favorite to work on when I was wrenching at the Ford dealership at the time. There's so much room to work under the hood and everything was easy to get at!

Bought a new 1975 Ford Maverick Grabber new in 1976.  Had a 302 and went like crazy.   I wish I had it now

Like @Stepney has.

I'm thinking my next vehicle or 2 will be 92 to 95 F series with 300s.

Had a few. Great trucks.

I had a 71 Grabber, 302 - 4 speed when I was a teenager. It had a Hayes racing clutch, Hurst competition plus shifter. Duel point ignition. That little car haul asphalt. Wish I had it now. A lot of memories with that car.

Certainly understand the appeal of an 8.

I'm a bit twisted though.

I'd build up the 6.

Then race V8 cars....

Well that's a possibility too while the 6 is out and I'm playing with the 8.  I believe they called them a thrift power 6 , it is torquey no doubt.

I'm a bit torn on the new EcoBoost v6 motors, my one friend has it in his truck, that truck is wicked fast. Be nice to have that in the maverick. But I'm old school, I like carburetors.

Pre 96 injection isn't too bad to work on with the earlier computer.

The easy starting and better mileage is nice but a carb is sure easier to repair and understand.

Craig Old 90`s trucks has a strong market value now because they don`t have cheap China steel frames like on newer ones. I have a friend he does frame replacement for a living. He sees this every day. Just my:twocents-02cents:
