Advice on where to buy parts needed

Recommended Posts

Hey, guys, Some of you know that i recently got three tractors in a week for the price of one. i remember getting helped once before on replacing the carburetor bowl seals that came in lots of five. I also need info on which transmission filter the c-141 uses, and the cross reference to Wix Info on points and condensers and coils would also be helpful. I have heard that getting genuine Kohler may be the way to go on some of this stuff, so comment on that one way or the other if you wish

The 12 HP I bought was just a bad gas problem, but the big boys need some love and additional parts. Thanks in advance for your help.

I try to get OEM when possible and stay clear of the knock off crap from overseas.  You get what you pay for.  Just be be careful of certain suppliers, they feed off restorers and jack their prices to the moon thinking they have gold plated parts.  Sometimes you have to be creative and search the internet and make connections with people. At least with wheelhorse parts a fairly simple to come across

Here is a good place to buy OEM & aftermarket parts. $7.95 shipping no matter what size order you have.

Thanks, guys. i need just the bowl gaskets for the carbs but they all come in a kit.Gonna check the vendors on this site I found that isavetractors has the kits cheaper than Amazon.  Maybe my Toro dealer has just the gaskets....i have enough incomplete projects that i can locate a coil and condenser to get more lightening out of the spark plug, or maybe just clean the points. .

You know how it is. Y.ou get a new engine and you need to hear that puppy run. i have a very nice original c-141 that smokes really bad and the bore is very oblong. so even if the one C-145 tractor is too far gone, I really want the engine to work... .

You might get lucky if you try a local NAPA.  Mine used to carry the gaskets in stock, but these days I have to order pretty much anything I want from them, which is nearly useless.  And I believe their NAPA Gold line of filters is equivalent to the Wix filters, I'm sure they can find a cross-reference that will work for you.
