mowboy 11 #1 Posted September 16, 2020 I want to change engines on my 310-8. Currently on this tractor is a Kohler K241S spec#46863 and I want to change it to a K241S spec #46636D. Other than the oil drain plug being underneath the engine (on the 46636D) does anyone know if there are any other differences that will prevent a direct swap? Or can you tell me where to look for the differences? Thanks for any info--

953 nut 59,969 #3 Posted September 16, 2020 You could leave your oil pan on the frame and bolt the other engine to it if the oil drain would be a problem.
tunahead72 2,543 #4 Posted September 19, 2020 Your current engine has a low oil sensor, the other one (older spec.) probably doesn't. That won't cause any problems, just something to be aware of. Personally, I can easily do without the sensor on my 310-8 (same engine), and will remove it if I decide to rebuild it again.
