jsp_333 222 #1 Posted September 16, 2020 Doing my first rj 58 project. I've got it driving on the road now. First thing I noticed was a lot of slop / play in the brake pedal. It felt like there should be a spring providing some tension. Sure enough the schematic shows a spring near the brake collar. The spring in the picture I posted above appears to fit quit easily under the brake band. Mine (The closest one at hand) has an OD of 13/16 and there is no way it's going straight underneath the break band. jsp_333 222 #7 Posted September 16, 2020 Bottjernet1 No need. 'preciate the thought. But think I figured it out I believe your set up is how the "handles" work on the snow cabs. jsp_333 222 #9 Posted September 17, 2020 Wallfish Thanks for the great illustrative photo. Never would've known about connecting the spring to the loop otherwise. The piece in the back is the correct part and I found it installed correctly. Who knew when I removed it tranny fluid would come pouring out so I just quickly put it back on.
