echris 1,425 #55 Posted September 19, 2020 I saw a post on Facebook, a decent looking 310-8, a bit newer than mine with a spectacular looking 42" SD for $500. And that got me thinking. I could buy that 310, maybe get it for $400-450, give it a good service, while stealing better parts for mine and most importantly, getting that sweet looking 42" SD. I could then repair my 42" SD whenever and sell the "new" 310 for what, $400? Maybe more. Oh dear, I'm infected. I'm trying to justify a new purchase. My best friend, the old fella who lives next door once said, "I don't deserve Peggy. She let me keep a drill press in the bedroom of our first apartment." I have the best neighbors ever. Change my mind. Haha

rjg854 11,952 #58 Posted September 19, 2020 no reason to have to justify a purchase @echris it's what is known as updating the equipment you have. I've been known to do that a time or two. Or more even
Pullstart 65,085 #59 Posted September 19, 2020 I look around... and it’s hard to find one to let go... There are a few that I’ll get to parting out... some day... if I have to.. I guess.
ebinmaine 71,257 #60 Posted September 19, 2020 3+ years ago we had one. A year later we had 3. 3 years later we have 4 that are running workers and 5 projects on the board. After 4 years I suspect we'll have 7 or 8 running and 1 or 2 projects. We're contemplating what to do for more storage because Trina and I don't believe in leaving equipment outside long-term. Some point we're going to start picking up implements...
Greentored 3,220 #61 Posted September 23, 2020 (edited) New to this, have one tractor, and you think we are all nuts eh? Better strap yourself in buddy, its gonna be a wild ride I bought my first Horse in December last year- yeah- nine months ago. Another in January. I kept the brakes on til spring. Then all hell broke loose. I didn't even see it coming! Use the following 'before and after' photos for reference. This is not a work shop- this is my back garage man cave. This happened in less than six months, and doesn't even include the five runners I actually use, the plow, 2 drags, scrape blade and disc. Oh yeah, and i'm going in the next couple days to pick up another. You're early in the game, there may be hope if you run away now, and fast. Just kidding. You're screwed.
