Carbman Fuel Pump for Kohler K-Series

Recommended Posts

"Manic-Mechanic"

I bought this generic fuel pump quick from Amazon. It ran great but leaked through the housing profusely! The original pump had developed a bad diaphragm and more than likely leaked fuel into the block, not wanting to have any issues I drained the oil. You can see the wicked dark thinned oil and smell the stench of fuel! I found a couple rebuild kits that worked thus far for the original fuel pumps. NAVARME 230675 Fuel Pump Rebuild Kit for Kohler Onan Tractor

Generator with Spring Gasket 230675.

WHX??

Those plastic pumps get mixed reviews so be careful. The diaphragms from fleabay ain't no better. They are cheap but that's what you get and do not contain the valve plate gasket or valves if needed. The original diaphragms have three stacked on them to keep the fuel out of the case these don't.

Best off rebuilding the OEM pumps from here.

I know the rebuild kits are not the best quality and the valves in the pump also must be clean and moving freely. I had one I rebuilt and it didn't have any suction at all, I put it on and the gas makes it to the carb. I know the carburetors are sometimes missing the little clip that holds the needle to the float and that can cause issues. I just rebuilt the carb on the m12 and it wouldn't start this afternoon. I sprayed cleaner through the intake and it fired up. There is a kit out to replace the needle, it's around 25 bucks or so. I do have a very old fuel pump that I rebuilt it really pumps! I am getting burned out tho'/
