Where did you hide the solenoid?  I see the heavy duty switch but the wires don't look big enough to use direct.

Didn’t have the 6 gauge wire in at the time. Has them in it now. No solenoid.

Good..  I had a friend had a Cub cadet some PO had used 10 ga after it cranked for a few seconds nice burning smell...

One thing IH did was use the push button for the starter like their large tractor and then went to solenoid after that. No high current through the switch. 

I will add a solenoid when I redo my 1277.
