305 380 #1 Posted September 4, 2020 a couple weeks ago i posted a picture of a 1969 Workhorse 700 that i picked up from Facebook Marketplace in Wisconsin. i said my plan was to put on a H-70 that i had , fix a few things , grease it up . sharpen the blades and then go mow. after all that and new belts , new battery , new switches , new wiring , etc i can now say mission accomplished first picture as it was at the previous owners.....the second picture in my backyard after mowing for the third time with it. yes, i kept the headlights...they have grown on me 7 7
ebinmaine 71,566 #2 Posted September 4, 2020 Nice little worker beast right there. So do the headlights work? And does that engine have a charging system?
305 380 #3 Posted September 4, 2020 thanks the headlights do work. the H70 i put on it i believe was from an Ariens snowblower and has no charging system , but a 12 volt starter was added. the color was left white . i will have to put a battery charger on it a couple times a season , or sooner if i mow in the dark. i am actually toying with the idea of adding a 12 volt permanent magnet alternator i don't think the Tecumseh snow king engine that was in it was ever really hooked up , but you can see where the hood was hacked for it

305 380 #6 Posted September 6, 2020 yes , that's was his asking price. i was there the next morning with cash and a trailer. the wife said they had a lot of interest in it and maybe she should of gotten her husband to restore it. she was surprised when i told her my plan was to fix what needed fixing , get it running and mow. i told her these old Wheelhorse's you can't really wear them out....a belt , a pulley , a seal and a bearing and you are back in business i also used two rebuilt 1623 pulleys from Prondzy on it.....they work great
