Would like to mount a314 on a312 body what kind of issues am I looking at?

are you talking just the engine swap ?  basically a bolt in , some wiring details , you can find the how to here , send us some pictures, pete

If both are the same ignition system and both have the same type of transmission it is a direct bolt up.

Post pictures of both engines from the front left side so we can see what ignition systems they have. If they are not the same we can walk you through the changes.

Here are the2 tractors,wiring does look different.

They are both Magnums.  They should just be plug and play.  Any difference in wiring on the tractor itself is most likely due to changes from year to year.  Bill

:text-yeahthat:                The Magnum 10 probably doesn't have the "Low Oil Sentry Switch" so those two wires can be eliminated. It acuates the relay that prevents the starter from turning over if the oil is low so not being connected will make the relay think oil level is OK.
