Newly acquired Wheelhorse SK486

Recommended Posts

Mikecetj

So, have a 1982 sk486, just got.... serial 01-16kh01-24458.     Under that is 2054. It has the original (not butchered) rear discharge under belly mower.

I am having a tough time deciding on blades, finding the tensioner pulley, and the belt for it.... any help?

Welcome to the forum.

Can you read the mower ID plate?

Just a guess. I can't tell the width of cut either. When I know what that is will give you a list of all the possibilities.

I would have to say 36".... the deck total width is 40"... the blades are 2 x 12" and 1 x 14"

It is the 05-36mr01. Got the blades and pulley right on the first try. The motor to deck belt is too long, and the deck belt is too long. Any ideas for part numbers?

MIKECEtj,  definitely that is a /  36 r/d deck , that blade actually looks not too bad , a small fine flat file will probably bring it right back ,with out removing too much metal , also scrap down the underside and lubricate it with waste oil , to kill off  the grunge and stop rot. also soak down those blade nuts with penetrant oil.  others will have those belt numbers

Drive belt 102741 (1/2" x 96.6") for B-Series & C-Series tractors with 45-1/2" wheelbase (Gates replacement BladeRunner 6638BR 17/32" x 96.75")

Spindle belt 8411 (1/2" x 76.94")

What belts did you get?

Originally the SK486 would have came with a 48" deck. Should be what the 48 in the model number means
