Hi all. I have a line on a c175 tractor. Don't know too much about them and was hoping for a bit info on them.

Sparky

Nice machines. Commonly referred to as “Black Hoods” because the factory painted the top center section of the hood black. Offered in both hydro with hydraulic lift or an 8 speed with manual lift.
Here the slightly scary part....the 17hp twins back then had a lubrication issue if the machine was used on slopes. Apparently the slash lube setup wasn’t lubing the entire inside of the motor while on a slope. It’s recommended to keep the oil level just a wee-bit overfull and avoid operation on slopes.

That lube issue wouldn’t prevent me from buying one (my yard is fairly level) and there are plenty of guys with these machines with high hours on em.

Stike

My hydro C175 is my go to worker, I use it all summer for hauling wood, leveling gravel and sometimes just playing around in the woods, in the winter it's set up for snow plowing its never let me down, solid tractor.

AMC RULES

Agree, it's a beast of a W-H machine.

Mine has done it all around here...snow blowing, plowing, regrading, mowing.

Bunch of videos of it working posted to my Youtube channel, if you want to see it in action.

Nearly the end of the '83 series 1 models here, and still gettin' it done!
