Simple upgrade with striking results. Replaced original GE lights with LED's. Purchased on Amazon for $26. LED's fit existing lamp holder brackets by simply bending tabs 90 degrees and used simple aluminum angle bracket with spacers to install . Distance to garage is a good 80'. Not only is the light much brighter and sharper, the pattern is much wider.

Way more light, much less current draw = a win win.

They probably only draw a couple amps apiece and multiple times more light, and unless you do an enormous amount of night driving they will last a life time.

That is a lot of current required.  If that is per bulb you are drawing 21 amps...from a 15 amp charging system..

I came up with 18 amps at 14 volts, but that is not going to last very long with nothing left to charge the battery.  As the voltage of the battery drops the amps go up.

The two 35 watt original only pulled  5 amps at 14 volts.

I took the listing as both, but thats still 10 amps and I know my 310 won't keep up with that.

The 126 watts is for the pair. The calculated amps is 10.5 at 12 volts. Granted the original GE lights pulled 5.83 amps at 12 volts but the light was horrendously poor quality. I don't seem to be experiencing any ill effects and I will let you know if I do.

15,000 lumens is a lot if that's for real,  1,000 to 1,200 lumens is more than enough to way out do a pair of 1156 incandescent bulbs.

Pfrederi, according to the wiring diagram for my 414-8,  the charging circuit has a 25 amp fuse. The gage circuit and the light circuit have a 15 amp fuse.

It appears that I have a comfortable margin using these LED's at their 10.5 amp draw.

Am I missing something? Thanks.

Normaly the watts and lumens listed is for one unit.  I bought 4 leds and they were listed as 24 watts, but i know that each was 24 watts.

If it is 126 for the pair you are ok.  If it is each you are drawing 20 amps from a system that is only generating 15.  You are drawing the batterey down..not a big thing for a few minutes but for a long night plowing session???

The 126 watt rating is for the pair.  Is my charging system at 25 amps and not 15 ? The wiring diagram for the 414-8 shows the charging circuit at 25 amp?

Fuse is 25 amp.  The stator and regulator generate 15 amps...
