Jerzguy2 23 #1 Posted June 23, 2020 I need some suggestions. I have a 310 Wheelhorse Magnum 10. Has run fine for years, but just started acting up. Starts fine and runs ok for about 1/2 hr and then start running a little rough for maybe 15 minutes and then just cuts out. It will restart, but then cuts out again. The first time it did this, I thought the fuel filter might be clogged, so I replaced with a new filter, but this same scenario repeated. Any suggestion where to go now? horseyheaven 113 #2 Posted June 24, 2020 Check to make sure you’re getting fuel. I have had to replace one or two fuel pumps before. Also, check the screen in the bottom of fuel tank to see if there’s any obstructions over the screen that’s in the bottom of the tank. I have had things get over that screen and cause it to quit. Then when you start cranking the fuel pump is trying to pull fuel And it burps some of the junk off of there and it starts back up for a while.Also, I had this happen on one of myWheel Horses. When it quits listen for a little sound like a tink sound. That problem turned out to be a valve sticking after the engine got warmed up. After it sat for a few minutes you would hear it go tink and it would start back up. Hope this helps. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

peter lena 9,273 #6 Posted June 26, 2020 jerzyguy2, while i agree with others above ,on the possible fuel issue , my experience with similar problems led to wiring issues , like chafing and shorting out . have also found a bad starter switch . the lead time coming up to failure is telling you where to go , look at anything related to cut out . pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jerzguy2 23 #7 Posted June 26, 2020 This is my greatest fear, as I have 0 experience with wiring or electrical issues. Thought about rewiring the whole mower after the season. I just have to get my other one running to finish the lawn duties. Been busy with work so mower is just sitting. Praying it's something like the fuel cap !
