BrettBlue 0 #1 Posted June 21, 2020 I have a 416 XT that the local dealer can't fix. Deck down, max height selected, it scalps. Deck up, cuts tall grass, too tall for lawn. Any ideas? refracman 167 #2 Posted June 21, 2020 (edited) Brett, I have a 2003 417xt which i bought new, mine uses the original style deck , 1973-2007, that came on all the garden tractors. If the deck is attached to the tractor correctly , the only thing i can think of that would cause the issue you are describing is the deck level adjustment rod is not adjusted correctly or missing on the back of the deck.
