Sycoticca 37 #1 Posted June 12, 2020 Hey Guys I am in the process of rebuilding my k181 for my 79' C-81 and when I pulled the flywheel off all of the magnets were no longer glued to the flywheel... All of the Magnets have a paint mark on one side of them... what would the best glue to use to reattach the magnets... Just basic 2 part epoxy?... And also what orientation should the magnets be in.? Sycoticca 37 #3 Posted June 12, 2020 is there a specific orientation of the magnets? ie...all paint marks up or down or every other.?
ELECTRORIC 230 #4 Posted June 12, 2020 You have north pole magnets and south pole you need to alternate them in the flywheel
pacer 3,177 #5 Posted June 12, 2020 Yep, epoxy or similar will do fine. To determine the polarity take a small magnet (i've got a shirt pocket screwdriver with a small mag on end) and stick it to the flywheel mag, first in the center and then the ends. You should have 3 that the mag sticks in the center and 3 that stick on the ends, mark them and alternate these around the rim.
