Tonight while mowing, the 'adjuster' that is on the PTO front side of the tractor had a bearing seize up in one of the pulleys. Apologies, but I don't really know the name of the part as I can't find it in any of the parts diagrams I find for this tractor Anyway, it's a 3/4 in shaft that has two pulleys on it that the belt comes off the engine PTO goes around and drives the mower. There is an adjuster/tensioner with a knob that can be turned that tightens or loosens this belt tension. I need to find the pulleys and bearings. (of course we destroyed the pulleys trying to press them off the shaft Does anyone happen to know what this part is called? tunahead72 2,546 #2 Posted June 10, 2020 Yep, hang on a minute, I'll get you part numbers for the pulleys (they come with bearings already installed). That assembly is usually called a mule drive, and you won't find it in the tractor parts diagram, it's in a separate diagram for the mower deck. I should ask before I look it up, but I'm not sure it matters, what deck is this for? Back soon... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Unless you have a 37" side discharge mower, you'll need these two pulleys: 104974 inner "v" pulley 104975 outer flat pulley I'm not familiar with the 37" side discharge deck except what I see on the parts list, it has two of the 104974 "v" pulleys and I believe a 6-sided belt -- somebody else please confirm. There's also two spacers, one between the two pulleys, and the other between the outer pulley and the belt cover. They're different widths, and it matters which one goes where, I can never remember and just have to find it here on the forum somewhere. You can find those pulleys lots of places, some of our vendors carry them. And if you clean that shaft nicely with some emery cloth or sandpaper, and use anti-seize when you install the pulleys and spacers, they'll come off a lot easier the next time you have to remove them. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,489 #5 Posted June 10, 2020 Front idler assembly mule 1/2" long spacer part number 101757 is on the outside between the pulley and cover. 5/8" long spacer part number 101734 is between the pulleys. tmorriss 3 #8 Posted June 10, 2020 Ok.. I did a little more research here and my mower only seems to have 2 v-pulleys. It is falling in line then with what tunahead72 explained above (a 6 sided belt - YES and 2 v pulleys -YES). So this seems to clear up at least some of the confusion I was having as one some part fiches I was finding, there were TWO entries for part #44 (like this one at Partstree.com https://www.partstree.com/models/05-37sc01-toro-37-side-discharge-mower-deck-1986/ So I guess I need TWO of the 104974 V-pulleys (SUP'd by 92-7103)?
