Starter vs Starter/Generator

Any pros / cons to one vs the other?

The starter only seems to be smaller and take up less space.

S/G leaves more room for a battery on short frames.  S/G sound so cool when they crank.  I changed a later K-181 back to a S/G just because.  They are more expensive

I prefer what ever my machine came factory with. over all the starter generators to me seem to last a long time! I also have a amish repair shop near me that rebuilds them pretty cheap. I have a few machine with starter generators. Here is one of them my original 953 and my daughter maddison being goofy in the background. This one has little ports on the starter generator to add oil every once in a while.
