squonk 39,032 #6 Posted June 2, 2020 (edited) Your relay should look like this; Terminals 85 and 86 are the coil connections. One is 12v positive the other is ground. If say this is a starter relay when you turn the key to start, one of these two should get 12 volts. When the coil is energized it pulls the contact from 87a to 87 There should be 12 volts all the time with the key on on terminal 30. This supplies power to terminal 87 that has now switched from 87a.
