How bad is my friction plate?

Recommended Posts

I see alot of people talking about friction plates and if the rivets are showing on them to replace it. Well here's a picture of what's left of mine. I don't see any rivets, but as you can see theres not much left of it. It still works the way it is now. Should I get a new one or just keep running this one?

Yours had bonded material.  I would not run it because of the out of balance condition and the risk of damage to other parts.  You can find them at one of our vendors and possibly eBay.

Replace.  Replace.  Replace.

You should have a full circle of friction material.

Notice where the PTO lines up on your body when you are in the driver's seat.  WHEN those remaining pieces come out, part of you will be in the probable flight path!

This isn’t a multi puck high performance clutch here... you should have a full circle disc :handgestures-thumbupright:

Let's see ….Decatur, Pa.      I'm betting the PTO will fail while you're using the snow blower in this winters biggest blizzard.
