K341s d160 stator

I noticed my stator wires were dangling. Which explains why my battery is dead after starting the tractor a few times. Where do they plug to? Still learning locations of things on this motor

I do not own a "D", but the wires from your stator should connect to the voltage regulator. Does your D-160 have a Kohler engine or an Onan?

Look for a gray metal finned box about 3x4"  Will have 3 terminals. Two marked AC one B.  The B goes to ignition switch you r two wire go on AC

If its like mine (WH did like to move things around) sitting in the seat on the left side immediately under the battery is the regulator mounted to that panel.

Paul has described the wiring, but there are a couple other regulator sizes, the one shown above is totally different from mine. They all do the same thing. See picture

Do you still have the black plastic connector on your wires?

I have one of my type if yours has been ripped off...

Have been working my way through the D-Auto wiring diagrams and came across this illustration of the motor on a 1981 D-160 diagram. There is no separate regulator shown with this like older models and now that I see a regulator for one it must be considered part of the engine and they drew it on as such. The notch cut out on the end is similar.

I dont have the S/N on my 160 but from some few clues I think its one of the earlier ones. That is an odd drawing...really lacking in detail.

Garry, you DO come up with some stuff!!!
