Runner 0 #1 Posted May 29, 2020 Just purchased a 310-8. I'm fixing to replace clutch and bearings. My question is the part that goes against clutch is slightly pitted. Is that supposed to be pitted or is it suppose to be smooth. I would call that part a pressure plate with a double pulley.
oliver2-44 10,715 #2 Posted May 29, 2020 The PTO "pressure plate with double pulley" will work fine if " slightly pitted" The pitting might shorten clutch plate life a little. make sure the clutch plate is not worn to were the rivets wear into the pressure plate. Runner 0 #3 Posted May 30, 2020 If it supposed to be smooth I might take it to a machine shop and see if they can possible mill it back smooth. Thanks for the reply back. I couldn't tell if it was made pitted to grip the clutch or if was pitted from rust. The clutch side is the only place pitted. Thanks again.
