Mach1dave 0 #1 Posted May 24, 2020 Can anyone help me with why the engine always runs at high speed. Even if I drop throttle down to idle it still run at full speed. is that a governor problem? If so how can I fix it. any help is appreciated. thanks.

953 nut 60,007 #3 Posted May 24, 2020 Take a look at the linkage going from the throttle cable to the governor and from the governor to the throttle arm on the carburetor. If all of that is moving freely as it should I would suggest you remove the carburetor to see if the throttle plate has become jammed or fallen off.
