The points arent needed at this time. trying to find this stuff online is a challenge and i am normally good at finding anything. Any help would be great!

Because putting it on is a major project.  maybe he didn't use it as a mower.

I dont recognize that motor #, but it appears to be a Kohler?? The 160's came with a K341 or an Onan, Some one has probably changed it out at some point - with the filter showing it might be a K532 20hp. Youll need to verify which it is to get your motor parts, ebay is full of Kohler parts and will have all the gasket stuff. Just do a search for your motor type, like 'Kohler 532 gaskets'

And yes there should be a screen over the fly wheel.

The batt hold down --- youll probably have to make one or get a stretch tie down.

The gas cap with gauge could be a problem, all the caps now are screw on and yours (and mine) are "eared" -- but there are dozens of the type out there and occasionally may see an "eared" one. You'll need to determine what length/depth your tank is - you have the 5 gallon and IIRC its 9"

Look under snowmobiles too for the cap

The flywheel screen isn't really a big deal.  i know nothing about Onans (and don't want too) but I would guess you are missing the shroud over the cylinder head.  You will have a cooling problem with out it.

The onan is also a good motor. I have had several. A sears i sold last year had a bf ms 2666 which is basically the same engine and the only issue i ever had was dialing in the carburetor. Dont get me wrong I love my kohlers. and in fact if this engine poops on me I will be putting in a kohler.  Everything i own has a kohler except my beaver garden tractors they have Wisconsin engines. I do have the shroud going over the head. i took it off to take the head off. Here is what the piston looks like!

Well the restoration begins I took both fronts and 1 back because they wouldnt hold air. I wanted to replace the fronts and tube the back but found out the back one had the bead broke in several spots. And the local Firestone has dealt with my family for years and me since i could drive and he knows how picky i am so they didnt put the new fronts on because he didnt have a back to match it. So know i picked out all new matching tires. I took the other back one off last knight. The old D-160 is going to get all new tires!. Here is what she loots like right now! The cost he says without tax about $100 per back tire and $50ish per front.
