Unplug it, test the two wire coming from the engine to the regulator. these should have 30+ volts AC with the engine running 3/4 throttle or better. Next test the remaining wire in the plug, with the key in the run position you should have battery voltage from this wire to ground. Last but not least make sure that the body of the regulator is well grounded, and that all of the terminals are clean.. If all of the above check out but it still won't charge, then I would replace the regulator. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
