Tim.0 39 #1 Posted May 13, 2020 HI, Been awhile since I have posted and hope all is well with everyone. I have question about the belt size or number for the belt which comes from the engine and powers the mower deck. I have the 42 inch rear discharge 78350 or the 78335, both the same I believe. I found this Transmission drive belt 108501 - (HB/5L x 81.50" or 5/8" x 81.5").. is this the correct belt I need. The belt is slipping when I get into taller grass. I want to try a new belt otherwise my pulley may be wore where it is not gripping properly is all I can figure. I have 2 other riding mowers and I don't have the problems with slippage as I am having now. If anyone has suggestions be glad to hear them. I grease the bearings in spring and thru summer wash mower deck in fall and periodically thru summer. The blades move free. Thanks Tim O

Thanks Tim O You have to adjust the PTO clutch for proper tension on engagement and also the big knob on the mule drive for the belt tension as well, the belt stretches over time and there is no spring loaded idler pulleys on the engine to mower belt you will have manually check these periodically best to get yourself both the mower and tractors operating manuals if you have not already done so.
Tim.0 39 #4 Posted May 13, 2020 Thank You. I have some manuals DLed and looked thru many, but guess just didn't find the right one. I tighten the belt, but that does not solve the problem and it is not the clutch. I will try belt. Thanks Tim O
