Johnpl 2 #1 Posted May 12, 2020 Just bought a Wheelhorse 314H. It uses a Kohler single cylinder M14S engine. Toro website parts diagrams and lists show just about every part, nut and bolt on the machine, including the filter for the hydrostatic transmission, but I can't find anything on Toro website about engine oil filter. Also can't find correct filter on websites of small engine parts vendors. Can anyone tell me what the correct filter is, whether sold by Kohler or other reputable company? oldlineman 1,495 #3 Posted May 12, 2020 I have a 1990 312 H and a 1989 414-8 neither one has a engine oil filter. Non pressure oil lube.
Johnpl 2 #4 Posted May 12, 2020 oldlineman, If my tractor has the same setup, it would explain why there is no oil filter showing on the aprts diagrams.

Guest 88vic #9 Posted May 12, 2020 I have never seen a Magnum single cylinder with an oil filter, maybe a twin magnum. Maybe there was a factory option for a remote oil filter ? It would be neat to see a picture of said setup.
Guest 88vic #10 Posted May 12, 2020 My 314-8 has a kohler command series and it does have an oil filter.
pfrederi 18,346 #11 Posted May 12, 2020 What is the spec number of your engine....Magnum singles were splash lubed no filters... Magnum twins, filters were an option that WH did not use.

clueless 3,115 #14 Posted May 14, 2020 The reason you can't find an oil filter is because the Kohler M14 doesn't use one. The filters posted here or for Kohler Pro 14.
Johnpl 2 #15 Posted May 14, 2020 I'm getting something of an education into different types of Kohler engines in the different models of Wheel Horse Garden tractors. I appreciate the help.
