Hi

Mine has a little knot steering right too. I think the steering box has too much end play.

Theres a plug on the top of the steering box. I think you have to take the dash off to access it. It might be easier to remove the four bolts holding it in underneath and drop the steering box down to check the fluid. I think it requires 10w 30?

The steering box plug is a plastic plug on the top front of the box, you can see it if you look between the battery and glass overflow bottle. Use 80/90 gear lube and if it leaks (most of them do), put a grease fitting in place of the plug and pump it full of soft grease. also Ray's Mower Shop in Boyertown Pa has a front blade for sale. He has an ebay store where you can see it. Hope this helps.

I am looking for a steering wheel gear box for the D- 250 Wheel Horse Lawn tractor. The gear box has two thrust bearings , one located at the bottom of the steering shaft and the other at the top. Water leaks down into the gear box from around the cap over the nut on steering wheel, causing the bearings to rust ( cheap bearings from Italy) The rusted bearing cause the steering wheel to jam and the bearings have to be replaced. Finding them is near impossible. They are metric I think and will have to take the steering shaft to a bearing dealer to find them.

If any one knows a source for them let me know 1 803 840 7860
