GreenMntRanger 38 #1 Posted May 4, 2020 I think I've asked this before but I can't seem to find it. So, I have this 418C that had the wiring harness chewed to hell and back by mice. Is there anyone who make aftermarket harnesses or is there a harness the can be substituted?
953 nut 59,313 #2 Posted May 4, 2020 The wiring on a 418-C is not too involved. If you take a look at the wiring diagram and replace one wire at a time you shouldn't have a problem. Page 10 of this manual has the wiring diagram. The wiring on the '87 310 model is the same as yours. anything older wouldn't work because the engines were a K series with battery ignition. Newer models began adding relays and more complicated stuff you don't need. Look at pages 336 to 339 of the "Demystification Guide" and you will see each circuit shown by itself. Take some time, remove the fear of wiring from your mind and you can follow along with this. You will need some 16 gauge wire, some Delphi-Packard wire connectors and a good electrical wire crimping tool.
