Attach-a-matic pulley seized

Recommended Posts

SaintJay

I have a seized pulley in my front attach-a-matic unit.  I removed the sheild, but cannot figure out if the pulleys are pressed on or threaded.  It appears to have a tack weld so I am thinking pressed on, but not sure.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

saint jay, after removing the end nut, the entire bearing /pulley set up should slide off. regular penetrating oil applications to all of your attachments and drive trunnions will keep things from rusting in place. as you remove parts put them in order to re assemble. for the 80+ $  price to replace the pulleys , you can probably replace the bearings for a much better price , pressing them out and in yourself. the bearings will have numbers on them that can be easily duplicated. i have done this my self , with no issues. i agree with the never seize for easy removal of slide points, pete

When you disassemble it the 2 spacers are slightly different lengths. Mark then so you keep them in the same location at reassembly.
