2005 0 #1 Posted April 27, 2020 hello guys....I have a 18 horse tractor...has an onan p218c-1 motor in it and after an hr to hr and half of cutting grass it likes to shut off...starts back up sometimes???? fresh gas...breather hole on cap not plugged...help.... brian Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Stepney 2,352 #2 Posted April 27, 2020 P218.. is that a 4-500 series tractor? Could be the ignition failing with heat. Be it the coil, pickup, or other. Try checking it for spark when it dies. I had a 516-h with an Onan that had electrical gremlins, and did the same as well as other odd things. My case it was just connections. Thats providing your not loosing fuel. Next time it dies hot, I'd check it for spark, then choke it and see if it gets fuel, IE wet plugs. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
