Recommended Posts

I picked both these up last weekend,

And today They both run,

the 8hp just needed a battery

the C101, needed a fuel pump and the points adjusted. and oil in the gear box looks pretty bad.

Great 400 dollar find.

and my son has laid claim to the 8hp one

The oil in the gearbox looking like coffee with creamer is pretty common.

The shifter boot needs to be replaced. Those are available from one of our vendors. Wheel Horse parts and more.

You should do those on both tractors.

When you go to change the fluid. drain it with the front end as high as you can safely get it. There's a bump in the bottom of the transmission that holds a lot of oil in the front half.

Put about two quarts of diesel or kerosene in the transmission and drive it around in every gear for a bit.

Drain that and add a couple quarts of 80w 90.

That little 8 sounds great! It’s always way more better when your kid(s) are into it as well.

My son was into the tractor scene with my when he was young....slipped away from age 18-23... but he is now a homeowner and has a WH of his own :handgestures-thumbupright: .

He’s like 10-11 years old in the first couple pics and 24-25 in the last two pics.
