mark in ny 27 #1 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) So I bought a c145 hydro and the wires are the typical hack job. I plan on rewiring the whole tractor getting rid of the safety switches that are half there anyways. The only thing stumping me is this rectifier little box thing. Can I just get a normal rectifier and use that to just simplify the wiring and keep it primitive? 2 ac wires in one DC to the switch not jumping with another leg. Also I'm assuming it's 15 amp correct? Thanks Edited April 20, 2020 by mark in ny
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,393 #2 Posted April 20, 2020 A 2-wire regulator was used on this model. Any 15 amp 3-wire replacement will work as long as it has the finned housing for cooling. The 3-wire regulators will work with 2 wires. If you check you will find one of the AC terminals is connected to the DC+ terminal inside the regulator. So connecting the AC to DC outside the regulator is the same thing. The other AC wire must go to the isolated AC terminal. 15 amp regulators are less expensive than 10 amp.
