Mocrazy1 5 #1 Posted April 20, 2020 I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would be ok to just run the ground terminal on the hour meter, to ground. I know it's tied into the oil pressure switch and only grounds and runs when the oil pressure is there. My oil pressure light seems to function correctly, but I don't want to dismantle the shroud to mess with the sending unit. I have power at the positive terminal on the hour meter, but it's not working. I totally replaced the 9 pin connector with a new, different connector over the winter. Everything seems to run as it should. I just want an operational meter, without messing up the oil switch. Thanks for any help, sorry for the long explanation. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,561 #2 Posted April 20, 2020 Sure you can do that. It is powered by the accessories circuit so should be off with the key. Make sure it is. Garry
Mocrazy1 5 #3 Posted April 20, 2020 Thanks Garry. I just wanted to confirm, it would not mess with the oil pressure switch, if I went directly to ground at the guage. I replaced the factory gauge, with a known working one. So all I can figure out is it's not going to ground at the pressure switch. What's odd is the light on the dash, for oil pressure, flashes and then turns off after start up, like it should. Confusing me. Thanks for the reply.
