Shacker 4 #1 Posted April 15, 2020 Any kits out there to make a 11 hp Briggs engine pull start? Would like a back up if battery is dead. I was thinking 3 stand alone posts mounted near the middle that I could wind a rope around and pull. Maybe a different route?
ebinmaine 72,681 #2 Posted April 15, 2020 I've never done one myself. Could you get a small cylinder of some sort and mount it similar to the way the exposed Rope start is on the following?
kasey54 305 #3 Posted April 16, 2020 I'm pretty sure a recoil start was provided on some 11 hp Briggs walk behinds and some generators, and snow blowers. I think it could be done.

Shacker 4 #9 Posted April 17, 2020 So if I pull the blower cover off I can just mount a pull start?
bds1984 1,499 #10 Posted April 18, 2020 You'd also have to get the matching cup that bolts to the flywheel so the recoil can "catch" and spin your engine over. But yes, totally possible.
N875ED 98 #11 Posted April 18, 2020 How about a “cup” that bolts to the flywheel like the old rope starters?
Shacker 4 #13 Posted April 19, 2020 Is this available as a bolt on?
