well guys it was a bad day yesterday as i sold the old 72 charger to a guy who wants to collect these find old horses ;no way am i quitter but after 2 different trigger which were bought from A-Z  tractor pus 2 coils and yes a new bearing plate as the owner who sold it some how h stripped the bolt holes that hold the trigger in place so after replacing the plate and checking the cap still no spark ;heck i gave up as no matter what i did even trace the wires still no spark so after 6 months i gave it quits ;but i was told it was the wrong coil as it came off a GT-14 motor but i thought most were the same and would work but it might be that this one came off a 14 horse and trying to use it on a 12 horse that might have been the issue but even though i sold it and really could not figure out why no spark i did good in the sale ;as the original hub caps were sold plus the original seat that came with it i did alright ;the seat was put on my 1973 no name and it really looks  good so with the sale of 200 for this piece of crap i think i did all right selling it ;but really i hate to be lied to any one let a lone a wheel horse seller but there are there just to make a buck ' but heck i have 6 others that run like new ' as always buyer be a ware as in my life time even at the age of 70 i will never buy another breaker less ignition system but again i ask is there a difference between a 14 horse to a 12 horse coil '

It’s sad to hear about the passing of this Horse in that manner.  I’m not sure of the trigger system.  One came on a tractor I bought but it had a broken rod and I used a points ignition system.  I can’t see how a 12 or 14 hp engine would make a difference?

yes it really sad but as i have mentioned over 6 months and still not getting the motor to fire i gave up even thought the years of collecting  these find old tractors at times we need to give up as yes so many here in the group has helped but still nothing ;yes i grew up on these horses and though the years have so many but really nothing like this one ;but look at this way we have another horse lover and maybe in time he might figure out the problem 'i wish him the best really but yes i do agree with the coil would it really matter the horse power that is the question but again driving for over 3 hours plus the same hours back have the seller lie; just to make few bucks ' i meant a seller who meant me at a exit from Springfield mo to ST LOUIS and he started it ran fine for 75 dollars it is a pull start yes a wheel horse and after 2 pulls it took off and i use it to mow the yard plus another seller that had a wheel horse charger we  traded  for 100 bucks and a lantern with a plow and mower deck for a wheel horse which again works again he was over 3 hours away so you see there are so many honest sellers but again so many out for that buck

I wonder why you did not switch it to a bear can coil and points?

Okay I did not know you had a possible issue with the hydro. Some times a man just has to do what a man has to do.

yep it was sad but it was time to move on to tinkering with the other horses in the garage ;if i ever decide to buy another horse for sure it won't have that type of a set up 'thanks for the reply

yes that is so true time to move on and find another horse but for sure no more of the breaker-less ignition system ;yep i was sure the hydro had issues;it gets quite expensive after time and we have to decide is it was worth spending so much on one horse ;thanks for the reply
