ID Help, Early Model with Clinton

Recommended Posts

SouthernVintage

Hey guys, here are some pics of my wheel horse. I can’t locate a model anywhere on it or find any pictures of a similar one. Engine is a 1 1/2hp Clinton 702 ABR6. Any help would be appreciated.

:text-welcomeconfetti: to :rs:   I think what you have is a highly modified Huffy or similar brand built lawn mower that someone put a Wheel Horse hood on.  Still a cool looking machine that someone spent a lot of time building

It really seems like a factory build, aside from the steering wheel. Tillotson carb and fuel filter. Goodyear tires. Late 40’s model 700 Clinton engine and fuel tank have matching green paint under the black. What year did they start building Wheel Horses?

Thanks for the welcome!

I agree it isn't a horse for the most part but it certainly is super cool.

Wheelhorse as a brand started around 1955 or 56.

The Ponds were making them some before that.

@Stepney

Spenser check this one out.
