ET160 30 #1 Posted April 5, 2020 I have a 1975 B80, and I was thinking that it would be nice to have a larger engine. Someone is selling a Kohler k301 7752233 (12 hp). He says that he thinks it was from a generator. Would this engine fit my tractor? Thanks!
pfrederi 18,681 #2 Posted April 5, 2020 (edited) A Spec Number would make it easier to ID the engine. however if it came from a generator The Crankshaft would not fit your PTO. Generators are direct hook up very short tapered shafts. There are some adapters but you would have to have measurements of the crankshaft to see if they would work. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crank-shaft-Adapter-Taper-to-1-1-8-Inch-Generator-Pressure-Washer-Engine/111797583847?hash=item1a07a7bfe7:g:wOYAAOSwA4dWHr9t Edited April 5, 2020 by pfrederi
richmondred01 2,307 #3 Posted April 5, 2020 I agree with pfrederi. Additionally, the pto side of the block may not have the correct bolt pattern and also the carb linkage will have to be switched out.
