golfer2b2000 1 #1 Posted April 3, 2020 I have a 1994 520 Hydro. The person who had it before me did some messing with the fuse block that is located right next to the battery. The block consist of a 15, 25, and 30 amp fuse. A couple wires have been cut off and just tied together with a wire nut. The 30 amp which I think he tried to remove, and broke it off he installed a 30 amp fuse, but I cant figure out where the end of this wire should be connected to. Just looking for a bit of direction as to what my next step should be. I plan on looking at it a bit deeper today.

lynnmor 7,819 #3 Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) Install a new fuse block, available at many auto parts stores, RockAuto has them for $3.02. DORMAN 85668 Edited April 3, 2020 by lynnmor 2
WHX?? 51,756 #4 Posted April 3, 2020 Probably be best to have one on hand. They overheat and melt due to bad/dirty electrical. https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-85668-Black-Block-Holds/dp/B000CO7I04
golfer2b2000 1 #5 Posted April 3, 2020 But what I am trying to find out is where do I attach the end of the wire coming from the 30 amp fuse?
golfer2b2000 1 #6 Posted April 3, 2020 I think I found out what I needed to. I think that instead of replacing the fuse box, I will just install line fuses. Talking to my Wheelhorse dealer he thinks that is the best way to go...
WHX?? 51,756 #7 Posted April 3, 2020 That's not a bad way to go either. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=fuse+holders+12v&crid=3CZPT48EXP72X&sprefix=fuse+holder%2Caps%2C191&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_4_11
lynnmor 7,819 #8 Posted April 3, 2020 I don't like all those connections when using inline fuses. With the fuse block an extra fuse can be added for things like a windshield wiper. There is a cover made for the fuse block sold by one of our vendors. To connect wires, simply strip a small amount and crimp the bare wire in the wire barrel of the connector and the insulated portion in the insulation barrel, See the link above for a photo. I solder the wire for a better connection.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,484 #9 Posted April 3, 2020 Colored wiring if it would help. 1991 is the same as 1994. Garry
golfer2b2000 1 #10 Posted April 4, 2020 I think I may have a more complex problem. This has set out in the cold Pennsylvania winters for two years now. I tried to jump it but I am not getting anything. No lights, or any signs of it getting juice whatsoever. I know the fuse block is an issue, but there is probably something else. I might try to jump it directly to the starter and see if I get anything. I do have a wiring diagram, but I am not too good at reading those
lynnmor 7,819 #11 Posted April 4, 2020 Jump from the light blue wire on the starter solenoid to the heavy wire from the battery. If the engine cranks, the issue is with the safety switches, ignition switch or the wiring. See the starter diagram in the demystification guide.
