Sparky-(Admin) 19,546 #6 Posted March 23, 2020 I think 12 HP Kohler’s have been used in Wheel Horses from 1966 up to 1999 or so...or whenever the last 312 was built. We’re going to need more info or a pic.
Pullstart 59,727 #7 Posted March 23, 2020 Maybe we can play 20 questions... Is this an automatic or standard transmission? Does this have black on the hood? What kind of PTO lever is on it? does this have a front tach-a-matic or does the deck belt go straight down from the PTO bell? 2

Sparky-(Admin) 19,546 #15 Posted March 23, 2020 So if the motor is original it’s a C-121 8 speed. This model was produced in 1978 and 1979. 81-12K801 1978 C Series Garden Tractor C-121 8-Speed Kohler K301AS-47648D 12 Wheel Horse 103916 91-12K801 1979 C Series Garden Tractor C-121 8-Speed Kohler K301AS-47648D 12 Wheel Horse 103916
953 nut 51,710 #16 Posted March 23, 2020 There is probably a tag just under the dash board on the tower.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,499 #17 Posted March 23, 2020 The model and serial may be in an odd location. This photo is taken standing at the left front wheel looking back toward the rear of the tractor. This is a 1978 Auto model. Garry 1
wheelhorse66 10 #18 Posted March 24, 2020 Ok I will check that location when I get home.there is no tag underneath the dash.
8ntruck 6,376 #19 Posted March 25, 2020 Pictures showed up for me. It's an 8 speed. Looks like it has a clutch pedal on the left and a brake pedal on the right. There is a cover on the frame tunnel. Looks like the pto is incomplete. Early C series?
8ntruck 6,376 #20 Posted March 25, 2020 A quick wander through tractor data.com suggests a C 121.

wheelhorse66 10 #23 Posted March 26, 2020 What do yaw mean by cradle mount? I just bought this tractor with a blade for 250.00 guy said it needs a starter.but still wandering about a cradle mount.what is it?
cschannuth 3,795 #24 Posted March 26, 2020 In 1978 instead of mounting the engines directly to the frame they were mounted to a cradle (steel plate). That cradle was mounted to the frame using 4 rubber mounts to reduce vibration.
