craddle 12 hp to kt17

I am removing a k series 12 hp kohler from a c175 tractor. i wanted to replace the 12 and install the kt17. just found out those craddles are different. holes and all will not fit. aim in in trouble finding the right plate

to bolt up to the kt17?I supose the belt will be the next issue to drive pulley/

back to the drawing board.

P.S The plate under the 12 dosent look like it will work with the 17.

That mounting plate is basically just a piece of flat steel that bolts up to the holes the 12 hp uses and has holes to fit the 17 hp . As for the belt you can get the correct belt for that model and  use that to help position the engine on the plate. It will require a little more time than if you had the original mount but will probably be a lot cheaper than finding an original if you even can.

Maybe you will need to shim the engine up too, so the belt guard can do what it needs to do properly too.

I think he has an isolation mount plate  it is not a flat piece.  also the two triangular cast spacers , front and back, are different for single and twins..  I replaced the isolation mount with a Flat plate from a 418 on one C175.  Will take a couple pic later. i have a twins Isolation mount and spacers...Not sure the rubber parts are that great if you are interested.

Pictures of using a flat plate from a 417 or 418.  you will need to make or get the small bracket that holds the bottom of the PTO hoop.  it has been awhile and i am not sure but i think you have to get a PTO hoop from  417/418 also as it is a bit longer.

 Plate in rear of picture is for a Single cylinder motor
